Never Give Up, Episode 102
What’s beyond our endless efforting, striving and comparing, and the often-merciless inner voice that keeps all of that going? And what might happen if we begin to relax our certainty that it’s the way we have to be? A conversation about opening to our lives, with Lizzie Winn and Justin Wise of Thirdspace.
Here’s Episode 102 of Turning Towards Life, a weekly live 30 minute conversation hosted by Thirdspace in which Justin Wise and Lizzie Winn dive deep into big questions of human living. Find us on FaceBook to watch live and join in the lively conversation on this episode. We’re also on YouTube, and as a podcast on Apple, Google and Spotify.

Note to self
Never give up! comes the well-meaning, merciless cry
Never stop improving, believing, working, achieving
Never stop striving, competing, accumulating, consuming
Never mind that you’re exhausted, bloated, bemused
Just don’t give up.
But what if we did – just give-up?
Let’s give up comparison: it’s a loser’s game anyway
Let’s give up looking good: and do some good looking instead
Let’s give up hoping: just the passive, ‘come-save-me’ kind, I mean
Let’s give up looking for a saviour: and keep faith with each other for a change
Let’s give up efforting: but keep engaging for sure
Let’s give up playing safe: and try playing in the safety
Let’s give up our craving for meaning: then gasp with delight when it taps us on the shoulder
Let’s give up our need to stand-out: and perhaps we’ll find the strength to stand-up
Giving up. It’s under-rated I think
Let’s give up accepting anyone else’s ideas about giving up
